I'm trying to download Finale Notepad 2012 from MakeMusic (the makers of Finale music notation software). All is good until I try to run the install program - unidentified developer. I've followed all the advice on all the boards I can find, but nothing is working yet. Control click on the install app, click Open. Nope. Go to Security and set the level to "From Anywhere" - that isn't an option in my Security window. I'm running OS 10.12.4. Any ideas?
For Finale 2010 and later, and OS X 10.7 and later. A completely new design of the Expand Region plug-in, with much more functionality. (The much-more-limited 1.00 version is still available for download.)
Many students and teachers also utilise other software in the Finale family. Finale NotePad is another mini version of Finale music notation software that is available as a free Windows download. The software that the MCTC Choirs have found really useful is a program called Finale Notepad. Notepad will allow you to isolate your specific part for the choir piece, and any other part of the piece that you want to focus on. This is a free software available for both Macs and PCs that can be downloaded here. In addition, MCTC labs have the full version of Finale installed in several locations on campus. You can find out these locations by clicking here.
Description: A family of Notation software products marketed by MakeMusic! running on the various versions of the MAC and Windows operating systems, consisting of Finale Notepad, Finale Songwriter, Finale Printmusic, Finale Allegro, Finale Guitar, and Finale. Finale Notepad is free to download, and the other products increase in cost, and capability ranging through the Finale, which has the most capability, and costs the most. All products within the family can open and print files created with any other member of the family from the same or earlier versions, thus, for example, Finale Notepad 2007 can print a file from Finale 2006. No version of the family can open a file from a later version of the software, so Finale 2006 cannot open a file created with Finale Notepad 2007. Higher end products of the family can read and write MIDI files, and support the MUSIC XML format for format interchange capability. 2ff7e9595c
