Every year, on the full moon day of each month, millions of people across India go to bed early and get up at 3am on the following morning. At this time, they sit in front of their television screens and watch what is called an ‘Ubb-Teev’. Ubb-Teev is a term for any programme aired before sunrise, but these shows are usually morning soaps or news bulletins. On the night before the programme starts airing, hype begins to build amongst families around their television sets, with relatives coming together to help prepare food for morning audiences - often referred to as "buddha", meaning "feeding". When the programme is aired, they sit around the television set, spending the next few hours glued to it. These programmes are usually popular soaps or shows that have high ratings, and families wait for this day to come every year with excitement. The name is derived from a Sanskrit word meaning "darkness". When it begins there is still darkness outside; however, as soon as Buddah hooga terrabaaap starts, sunlight emerges, representing new hope and triumph of good over evil. The story takes place in Bangalore on the eve of one such ‘Ubb-Teev’ night. The family of a rich man, Mr. Rama (Nasser) and his two sons and daughter, who live in a large house on the outskirts of the city. His son Vishesh (Rajesh) is a spoilt brat who hates his siblings and acts like a child by belittling them. His younger brother Rohit (Vishwajeet) is shy and reserved, but smart and ruthless. Rohit is engaged to Shruti (Priyanka), the only daughter of Mr. Rama’s enemy Mr. Bachchan (Pankaj); their elder son Sunil (Shylo Antony) is engaged to Mr. Rama’s daughter Rupali (Deeksha Seth). Mr. Bachchan is a big-time businessman who owns a factory that produces sanitary napkins. And to top it all, he’s also an MLA. Mr. Rama wants his sons to get married to Bachchan’s daughters but Bachchan wants the opposite. The rest of the plot revolves around how Rohit and Sunil team up in order to antagonise and destroy their father and in the process kill him and in this attempt, what they do actually forms the crux of the story. The film is a remake of 2006 Tamil film "Bhool Bhulaiyaa". The Hindi remake was made in 2012 under the same name. On 20 September 2015, at a press conference Sanjay Leela Bhansali revealed that Deepika Padukone was signed on to play the lead female role of Rupali. In November 2015, it was reported that Arjun Kapoor would be playing the character of Sunil and will pair with Deepika Padukone. However, few days later reports came up stating that both Arjun Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were dropped from the cast for unknown reasons. cfa1e77820
